Burying my Head in the Sand for a While
Lately, when I read the newspapers, the wire services, and lots of websites — that is, pretty much any news outlet — the news is so goddamned scary that I actually, seriously, honest-to-god start having anxiety attacks. No joke. As a result, I’ve decided that I have to go on complete news blackout, which translates to little or no web surfing, because it’s just too hard to avoid stumbling across more or the same old sky-is-falling rhetoric, which in turn sends me into a panic.
Believe me, I know this isn’t the most mature or productive response. But right now, I have enough real stuff to worry about and deal with that I simply have to perform some sort of triage so I don’t get completely paralyzed by the stuff over which I have precisely zero control.
So if you’re seeing a lot of reblogs here, that’s why. I’m hoping it doesn’t last too long.
