Giuliani and McCain similarly lied to the American public to cheers of “zero, zero” from the crowd. Zero?

- 823 is the number of laws Obama sponsored in the Illinois State Senate.
- 427 is the current count of the number of bills Obama has co-sponsored in the U.S. Senate.
- 152 is the most recent tally of the number of bills that Senator Obama has authored. (View Obama’s current legislative record here.)
The real zeros from the transcripts of Palin’s and McCain’s RNC speeches:
- number of times “middle class” was mentioned by Palin or McCain
- number of times educational aid and educational opportunity was mentioned by Palin or McCain
- number of times healthcare was mentioned by Palin or McCain
- number of times an actual tax plan was mentioned by Palin or McCain
- number of times reproductive issues were mentioned by Palin or McCain
- number of times Palin actually issued directives to the National Guard as Governor of Alaska (which is zero) mentioned by Palin or McCain
- number of major laws, reforms, or bills Palin helped author or enact that were mentioned by Palin or McCain
