States Purging Registered Voters.

bunnynico:

Election officials in a handful of crucial states are allegedly purging registered voters from their voter rolls, most of whom are poor and/or Hispanic or black:

  • Kansas, Michigan and Louisiana have been accused of illegally purging their voter lists, ignoring the federal law dictating the way registered voters may be purged from voter rolls. (via)
  • Colorado dumped one fifth of all voter registrations, the largest in history.
  • Florida is refusing to accept 85,000 new registrants from voter drives, the majority of whom are black.
  • New Mexico has purged half of the Democrats in Mora county, a largely Hispanic population.
  • In swing states Ohio and Nevada, new federal law is knocking out tens of thousands of voters who have lost their homes to foreclosure.  Other states are requiring certain identification, such as passports, in order to vote.
  • In Ohio, nearly 600,000 are subject to possible voter caging. (via)

This is huge because statistics like these can be dispositive, particularly in swing states where the numbers are so close.  Listen to the audio and read more here and here.
