Polls show Obama way up in key states →

Nate at 538.com offers analysis on some polls out this morning. Big Ten and Quinnipiac both show Obama with big leads in Midwestern and battleground states.

Big Ten shows Obama with double digit leads in Wisconsin (13), Minnesota (19), Michigan (22), Illinois (29), Pennsylvania (11), Ohio (12), and Indiana (11). Indiana?!!

Quinnipiac has Obama up in Ohio (14), Pennsylvania (13) and Florida (5).

Nate sees these polls as best case scenarios for Obama, as opposed to full-fledged outliers. Although, the Indiana results seems to be a pretty big outlier to me. I have to agree with Nate, that this is what a landslide will look like, but isn’t the most likely scenario for Nov 4.

For Obama supporters, especially in the states listed here, it is important to get out and vote. Don’t let the numbers fool you. For McCain supporters in these states, do some work on behalf of your candidate. Enthusiasm is down, but it’s up to you to fight for what you believe.

Election08 is right, it’s time to work harder than ever.  Remember, polls don’t vote.  Neither do yard signs.  Vote, donate, volunteer.

Echoing fuddmain’s words above: Vote, donate, volunteer. The fabulous Jessica and I are flying to Ohio on the Monday before Election Day to do voter protection and keep Ohio safe for democracy. Wish us luck!
